Texas!

In social studies this week we talked about Stephen F. Austin, the father of Texas. After learning a little bit about Stephen F. Austin and what he did, the kids made maps of Texas and showed where our state capital is. Tuesday, they filled in Texas outlines with salt dough, and colored flags to look like the Texas flag to place in their map where Austin is.

On Wednesday, they painted their maps to match what the different regions look like in Texas. I gave them green, brown and white paint so they could mix the colors however they needed to.
