Today we celebrated Grandparent's Day in kindergarten. Throughout the past 2 weeks we made different things to give our Grandparents.

Our Grandparent's Display Wall. Each child drew a picture of their Grandmother and Grandfather and told me what they call them. Three of the kids brought in picture with their Grandparents for our wall.
In the morning before everyone's parents and Grandparents came, we read a book about Grandparent's from all over the world called Our Grandparents A Global Album. I LOVE reading this book with the kids. It's fun to hear them say "grandpa" and "grandma" in different languages and see how similar families are all over the world.
While we're reading the book we have a map of the world up. As we come across pictures from different parts of the world, someone comes up and puts a sticker on our map to show all of the different parts of the world that are talked about in our book.

We looked and talked about Grandparents from all over the world. They all love us and care for us the same way. |
After we read our book and put our stickers all over our map, we went to our tables and drew one last picture of our grandparents. A couple of Grandparents came in while we were working and sat with and watched the kids.
Then ... we ate lunch!
Thank you Grandparents for everything that you do! You are a special part of each of these child's lives.
