This week in science we talked about rocks! All week long the kids did different science labs look at rocks and recording their shapes, sizes, colors and textures.
Tuesday, the kids drew what a rock looked like and wrote it's color, size, shape and texture. Each table had vocabulary cards the help the kids spell words for shape, color, texture and size.
Wednesday, the kids worked in pairs and compared their rocks to one another. They wrote about their rock, then wrote about their friend's rock. Like Tuesday, each table had vocabulary cards the help the kids spell words for shape, color, texture and size.
Thursday, we went outside and each of the kids grabbed 3 rocks from the playground. They taped them into their science journal and wrote about the 3 rocks the found, using vocabulary cards to help them if they wanted to use them.
