We have also been playing around with a new resource called Kiddom in class. It lets the kids see their
scores on assignments, what TEKS are addressed in those assignments, what standards
they need to work on and their overall grade in the class. It also lets them
see their growth throughout the cycle. It also lets them track their assignments,
what they are missing and when assignments are due. It is a great tool for
helping our kiddos be accountable for their work and due dates! Students have
now all been set up in Kiddom and know their log in information.
THIS WEEK IN MATH:
Geometry &
Measurement continues this week with a study of perimeter and area.
Your child will be learning:
● to find the perimeter of a polygon or a missing
length when given the perimeter and remaining side lengths.
● to use multiplication to determine the area of a
rectangle.
Please see the new
resources listed below to support your child’s mastery of these skills.

we will continue our Unit on Earth and its Resources. We will be moving on from
looking at soil and soil formation to looking at rapid changes in Earth’s
surface and the effect that Earth’s rapid changed have. We will be focusing on
earthquakes, volcanoes and landslides, while also discussing other changes such
as tsunamis.
Study
Jams - Earthquakes – Watch the video
and test yourself on what was discussed! This Study Jam talks extends on some
of the concepts we will discuss in class and is great for looking ahead at what
is to come in upper grades! You can also look at other Study Jams on landform, rock
and mineral related topics {here}.
Study

All content in this resource is searchable.
BrainPOP Forces of Nature - The Forces of Nature page on BrainPOP’s sight
has a ton of different videos and games involving forces of nature, which is
what we are studying right now! It discusses volcanoes and earthquakes like
