Light, Heat and Sound Energy

We spent the last 3 weeks talking about 3 different kinds of energies. Our first week we talked about light energy, heat energy our second week and sound energy our third week.

We watched BrainPOPs on each different type of energy and drew pictures of sources of light and heat energy. For sound energy, we colored pictures that showed objects that made sounds and X-ed out pictures that did not.

We also made rain sticks for sound energy! Ok, so they were more like shakers, but we were talking about Thanksgiving still, so they turned into rain sticks! The kids painted toilet paper rolls, then filled them with 30 corn kernels.

Science - Energy Review

After spending a week each on heat, light and sound energy, the kids did a paper in their science journals showing different examples of heat, light and sound.

I put my paper on the board so we can write the date on our papers together and I can show them what we are doing on our paper.

We split each one of our energy sources into 4 boxes so we could put 4 examples of each source in each box.

When the kids showed me their papers, I wrote down what they told me each picture was. I love how she remembered the glowing mushrooms we talked about!
