Halloween Week - Reading and Writing!

During the week of Halloween, we also celebrate drug free week! During the week, the kids had different fun days to remind them to stay drug free. Monday's theme was living a drug free life is "no sweat" and we wore sweats to school. Tuesday was good character, good choice and we wore red to school. Wednesday's theme was hugs, not drugs! The kids got to bring stuffed animals to school with them that day. Thursday we were shading out drugs and word caps and sunglasses to school. Friday was the fun day! The kids got to wear their Halloween costumes to school!

For their stations this week, the kids did a lot of Halloween themed activities! We read decodables about Halloween, made Spookley's, matched capital and lowercase candies, sorted kids with and without costumes, wrote about Halloween, matched Halloween onset rimes, counted Halloween syllables, made candy corn people, colored candy corn sight words, matched capital and lowercase letters in writing, built sight words, and played with different things from our big writing shelf.
