Tuesday was Veterans Day. Last Friday, we made thank you cards for veterans to show them how important what they did and still do for us is. I took the cards with me to Dallas over the weekend and delivered them to the Veterans Affairs Hospital down there.
Tuesday, Mrs. Van brought down the second grade classes to read a poem and sing a song to us in the hallways in honor of Veterans Day.
We spent the rest of the day doing different stations that had to do with Veterans Day. The kids made their own veterans and wrote sentences about why we love our veterans, made quilt block U.S. Flags, used the letters in "veteran" to spell new words, and did a Veterans Day color by vowel page.
